Profiling

May 24th, 2005

My ice skates don't have much more life in them, so I want to get started on the extra set of runners I have. My old runners were not initially altered, but over the years the profile evolved. Once I tried to skate on the new runners they felt long, my heels scraped the ice during pivots, and the extra ice contact made stopping difficult. I want to profile the new runners to produce a feeling similar to my old runners without copying all the things wrong with the old runners. For more on the story and the suggestions made, see this topic.

To examine the runners, I laid the old over the new, kept the ends lined up, and assembled what I hope is a complete look at them (below). If you have any questions, suggestions, or picture requests, feel free to join the discussion.
